Audio/Video Presentation Support: Submit Audio and Video to Brightspace

A guide to assist students in utilizing Brightspace and third party tools available for creating audio and video presentations.

What Projects Would You Use This For?

The easiest way to incorporate audio or video into your classwork is to utilize Brightspace Audio Notes and Brightspace Video Notes. This is a simple and built-in way to submit multimedia to your professor. Brightspace allows you to create audio or video recordings right in your assignment. If you choose to, you can also use a third party software to create an audio recording and upload it to Brightspace.

Suggested projects:

- Presentations that only require you to use a webcam

- Short or informal audio or video presentations

- Reflection or journal pieces

Brightspace Audio Notes

Brightspace supports up to one minute of audio recording when:

  • Submitting to Dropbox
  • Composing a Discussion Post

Brightspace supports up to thirty minutes of video recording when:

Third Party Audio and Video Recording Software

You can also create your own audio or video recording. This method is useful if you need an audio or video file longer than the sizes available with Brightspace, or want to eventually edit together multiple files for a larger and more involved project.
