Sometimes you need to include a video clip of your screen in a larger video project, or embedded into a PowerPoint. The library supports both basic and advanced options for users needing to record their screens. This page also includes information on how to record both your screen and webcam at the same time.
Suggested projects:
- Any presentation where you need to show a process on your desktop
- Presentations which require both screen recording and webcam recording (such as for HA 205)
- Video tours utilizing Google maps
- Step-by-step explanations of how to do something on the computer
There are multiple ways to record your screen, both simply and with more powerful tools. This is especially useful if you want to edit one or more screen recordings together to create a larger and more involved project (See Creating a Video with Pre-Recorded Files).
The library recommends a few different options for software:

Sometimes your instructor might ask you to create a presentation that includes a recording of your screen and also a recording of yourself via webcam. This format is meant to help simulate you giving a presentation. There are multiple ways to record your screen and webcam at the same time.
