Respondus Information

Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor are custom browsers that lock down the testing environment in a Brightspace quiz. Many exams in Brightspace have LockDown Browser or Respondus Monitor enabled to ensure academic honesty.

If you have a device that is not supported, you may need to borrow a laptop or tablet in order to take your exam. To do so, follow the instructions below:

For on-campus students - the College's iTeam has several PC laptops available for loan.  To see if one is available for you to borrow, please email iTeam@sjcme.edu.  The library has two iPads that may be borrowed, as well.  To make use of an iPad, please contact askalibrarian@sjcme.edu at least three days in advance of your exam.

Respondus Installation

To install Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor, follow these instructions.

An iPad may be used to take an exam in Brightspace. To do so, follow these instructions.

Respondus Monitor requires Respondus LockDown Browser. Before using LockDown Monitor, review this quick start guide.
